That is exactly what Scott Taylor, Director of Transfer & Veteran Admissions at Syracuse University, is trying to find out.
Scott was recently selected for the Richard P. Nathan Public Policy Fellowship for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. The Nathan Fellowship is part of the State University of New York’s Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government. Scott’s year-long project aims to uncover some of the reasoning for why students choose what schools they wish to attend. There is plenty of research about why higher education institutes desire the military community, but not nearly as much insight into how students choose.
