The National Society of Pershing Rifles is a military fraternal organization originally established as a drill company. The scope of activities conducted by Pershing Rifles Company F-8 at Syracuse has expanded to include basic military and survival skills, leadership and team building, and social functions.
Pershing Rifles is nationally organized as a military fraternity open to both men and women. Entry into the Brotherhood is contingent upon completion of a pledge period–the Pershing Rifles Indoctrination Process–similar to Greek fraternities but focused on development of qualities and values of a professional armed forces officer.
Syracuse’s Company F-8 has a rich history of drill and tactical training reaching well into the 1960s. Many of Syracuse’s most distinguished military graduates have been members of the Company.
