United States Navy veteran Raul Rosique was born in Delano, California, and raised in Richgrove, California. Raul shipped out to boot camp a few months after his high school graduation at age 18 in 2014. Raul’s enlistment was for five years, and he was set to be attached to a Nuclear Submarine as a Logistic Specialist. After completing logistical training in Mississippi and Submarine training in Connecticut, he received orders to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii which luckily ended up being his only duty station.
Raul arrived in Hawaii and was assigned to the USS Charlotte 766. His duties included handling all the submarine’s logistical needs and to also drive the submarine. While attached to the USS Charlotte, Raul was tasked with being the mission driver during two Western Pacific deployments and one Eastern Pacific deployment, totaling two years of underwater sea time. Raul earned three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medals and Admiral letters for his service.
While Raul’s proudest moment in the Navy was successfully driving submarines during multiple intense mission areas, he is glad to be a student at Syracuse University. Raul separated from the Navy in 2019, and he is currently a senior at Syracuse University’s David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics where he is studying to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Exercise Science (Pre-PT). He also serves as the Secretary Officer for the university’s Student Veteran Organization.
