United States Navy veteran, currently serving New York State Air National Guardsman, and Syracuse University undergraduate student veteran Nadia Morris-Mitchell hails from Syracuse, New York. She enlisted in the United States Navy in 2004 as a heavy equipment operator, Seabee. Also in 2004, Nadia married her high school sweetheart, Cody Stasko.

ROTC Cadets Share Stories About Being Military Children
Syracuse University Army Cadet Siobhan Grabski ’23 and Air Force Cadet Mazin Moya ’24 share their military child stories with OVMA’s Vanessa Marquette G’19 – who is also a military child. All three come from extensive military families. There are different challenges both active-duty and Reserve/National Guard military children may face – for some kids it’s frequent moves and changing schools, for others it may be living with families and friends when their parent(s) are gone for trainings or deployment – to name a few. Whatever the hardships may be, military children have proven to be more resilient than ever and are incredibly proud to have military service in their lives. Watch this video to learn more.
