The Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA) Undergraduate Internship Award provides financial assistance to undergraduate student veterans at Syracuse University for expenses associated with their summer internship.
The Internship Award was established to assist in eliminating the financial barriers that hinder student veterans from participating in internships by funding expenses that incur from partaking in an internship.
About:
The Internship Award is intended to cover the cost for the following, not to exceed $5,000 in total:
?? Transportation/Travel (to-and-from, in-and-around)
?? Food
?? Housing (rent, utilities, etc.)
?? Supplies
?? Childcare
?? 1 Credit Hour-Internship Credit Registration
Application:
The Internship Award application requirements:
✔ Register for the Internship Award via Handshake
✔ Complete your Handshake Profile
✔ Complete the Internship Award Application which will be emailed to you register after registering for the award on Handshake
✔ Upload your resume into the documents section on Handshake
Eligibility:
? Open to currently enrolled undergraduate student veterans at Syracuse University
? Student veterans are eligible to receive the award only once
? Provide confirmation of the internship offer and proof of completion to receive the Internship Award
Evaluation:
? This is a need-based award, issued on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the successful completion of the application requirements and how the funds requested impact a student veteran’s ability to participate in the internship
? Expenses requested will be reviewed and awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to ensure accuracy and impact on student financial aid
