United States Army Sergeant and current Syracuse University Army ROTC cadet Quynn Sweeney hails from Fulton, New York. She enlisted in the U.S. Army in September 2019 and has been serving on active duty for six years. Quynn initially trained at the 5th Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina to become 37 Foxtrot, Psychological Operations Specialist from 2020 to 2021. She later changed her Army occupational skill to 92 Alpha, Automated Logistics Specialist.
Quynn served as a logistician in the 112th Signal Battalion, 528th Sustainment Brigade (Airborne) at Fort Bragg until 2025. While serving with the 528th Sustainment Brigade, she provided logistical support to 1st Special Forces Command and supported training with the Special Operations Medical Detachment (SOMEDD).
In 2024, Quynn applied to the active-duty Green to Gold program, and she was selected to attend Syracuse University’s ROTC program to train to become an Army Officer. Today, she is currently majoring in psychology and neuroscience in the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University. Quynn and on course to graduate and earn her commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the spring of 2027, aspiring to serve in the U.S. Army Medical Service branch.
