United States Army veteran and Syracuse University Army Senior ROTC Cadet Nicklaus Brinka served as a Human Intelligence Collector for 42 months on active duty in the United States Army. Nicklaus served with Delta Company, 41st Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York.
While at Fort Drum, New York, Nicklaus served as a team leader and had the privilege of leading ten soldiers during his time on active duty. Nicklaus and his team worked in support of Operation Resolute Resolve helping serve intelligence data to soldiers deployed in Afghanistan.
Nicklaus’ proudest military moment was being able to teach and lead Cadets at the United States Military Academy at West Point for “Cadet Summer Training 2015.” He instructed and taught over 300 Cadets, who are now commissioned Officers in the United States Army.
After leaving active duty, Nicklaus was selected in the Army’s “Green to Gold” program and chose to attend Syracuse University. Today, Nicklaus is a senior Army ROTC Cadet and management major in the Whitman School of Management who will graduate in the spring of 2020, and he will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.
