James Callaway

TSgt James N. Callaway is the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Officer Accessions Training Instructor and Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of Sub-Region 5, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 535 at Syracuse University. He serves as an instructor and primary enlisted advisor on cadet academics, professional development, military discipline, and welfare for three active-duty officers, and an enlisted personnel member as well as over 40 United States Air Force and United States Space Force officer candidates. Additionally, he is responsible for managing a myriad of cadet life-cycle personnel programs and records overseeing security clearances, enlistments, categorizations, and commissioning processes.

TSgt Callaway was a military dependent and graduated High School from Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, enlisted in the United States Air Force in June 2007. He graduated from the Services Specialist Course in Medina Annex, Texas in September 2007. His background in Services includes serving as a Food Shift Leader, Mortuary Specialist, and Lodging Guest Service Representative Manager. He later retrained into Client Systems Technician in July 2018. His background as a Client Systems Technician includes serving as an NCOIC of Client Systems Technician Section, Executive Communications, Assistant Key Manager Infrastructure Operating Manager, and Special Operations Communications Subject Matter Expert. He has deployed to locations such as Qatar, Niger, and Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations in Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. Prior to assuming his current position, he was the NCOIC of executive support for the 715 Air Mobility Operations Group in Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
