United States Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Greg Baird hails from Baldwinsville, New York, and he enlisted in the Air Force in December 1987. He married his wife, Deanna, in 1992 and they have two children: son Sean, and daughter Lauren.
SMSgt Baird has served over 31 years with the 174th Attack Wing at Hancock Field holding three different military occupations: Cyber Security Specialist, Munitions Systems Specialist, and Material Management Specialist.
SMSgt Baird has deployed in support of combat operations to both Iraq in 2006 and 2008, as well as Afghanistan in 2018 earning the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, and the Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medals.
SMSgt Baird’s proudest military moment of his career is the day his daughter, Lauren, joined the 174th Attack Wing, making her the fifth generation of the Baird Family to serve in the United States Armed Forces in defense of our great nation.
