United States Navy Mass Communication Specialist Second Class, Alexis Perez was born on October 7, 1993, in Syracuse, New York. Lexie is a 2011 graduate of Marcellus High School, where she excelled in lacrosse. Her college journey started at Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts where she played for the Mustang Women’s Lacrosse Team from 2011-2013. She transferred to Marymount Manhattan College and in 2015 earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree.
In 2017 Lexie enlisted in the United States Navy attending boot camp and Gas Turbine Specialist Electrical Engineer training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Illinois.
In 2019 Lexie’s dream of using her skillset in photography, videography, design, journalism, and public affairs came true as she reclassified jobs to become a Naval Public Affairs Specialist.
That same year she was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for her quick responses and public affairs teamwork during the active shooter tragedy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Her most notable achievement was in 2022 when she was hand selected for an operational deployment to serve as a lead graphic designer for the Joint Information Center during the Red Hill Water crisis in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Lexie is now studying at Syracuse University in the Military Visual Journalism program at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications while also pursuing her master’s degree in multimedia, photography, and design.
