Hometown Hero: Devon Hubbard

United States Army Captain Devon Hubbard hails from Chicago, Illinois. In 2016, Captain Hubbard was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Military Intelligence Corps from Mercyhurst University.

Captain Hubbard’s first assignment was with the 204th Military Intelligence Reconnaissance Battalion, and she deployed to Afghanistan serving as the Detachment commander for 30 pilots and soldiers. She later served in the Chicago Illinois Recruiting Battalion and in the 501st Military Intelligence Battalion located at Camp Humphrey’s, Korea.

Her proudest military moment is when she commanded Charlie Company, 3rd Military Intelligence Battalion in Korea, where her company conducted daily aerial reconnaissance missions against North Korea. Today, Captain Hubbard is a Syracuse University Army ROTC instructor in the Stalwart Battalion, charged with training future officers in the United States Army.
