United States Navy Veteran Jennifer Aquino is a native of Puerto Rico. She enlisted into the United States Navy in 2003 She attended boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois, and later become a cryptologic technician collector and interpreter. Petty Officer Aquino served aboard the Nuclear Aircraft Carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower. She also served with the Navy Information Operations Command in both Virginia, and South Texas for a total of 14 years of honorable service.
During her military career, Petty Officer Aquino worked as an intelligence interpreter, Spanish Program Coordinator and instructor, Financial Counselor, Sexual Assault Survivor Advocate for the United States Navy and in her local community. Some of her community roles included Tuition Assistance Coordinator, Command Advancement Training Petty Officer, Multicultural Heritage Advocate, Public Affairs Photographer, Morale, Welfare and Recreational Vice President. Petty Officer Aquino also served in her local church as the Women Ministry’s Treasurer.
In 2012, Petty Officer Aquino was selected as South Texas Sailor of the Year for both her military and community service. Petty Officer Aquino’s awards and decorations include Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Today, Jennifer is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Linguistics within the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University. She is a proud mother of one son Daniel. Petty Officer Aquino currently serves as the Syracuse University Student Veterans Organization Vice President.
