Transcript:
Hi, my name is Benetta

I am a master’s of social work
student here at Syracuse University.

I am a U.S. Army veteran.

Go Orange. (Laughter)

I have a friend who grew up here in Syracuse
and she always told me about Syracuse University

So when I did the tour and I seen the veterans building that really got my attention because sometimes when you often do tours of the college.

They have a veteran’s office or like just not a building dedicated for veterans.

And when I had seen this building, I realized that the veterans here are appreciated.

And when you talk to someone from Syracuse, they always reppin’ Go Orange.

They’re always reppin’ Syracuse.

They always…you would know a Syracuse student And that’s something that I wanted to be a part of because I want to be a part of someone who is proud of the university.

After Syracuse?

I would like to work at the VA Medical Center helping veterans.

As an African-American, we often do not talk about mental health in my community.

And I feel like I’ve had an African-American female.

I would like to be that voice for other females who does not have that voice.
