Veterans Day Fun Run and Walk

ROTC cadets running in the 2025 veterans day 5K

Every day is Veterans Day at Syracuse University, however, the November 11th Veterans Day program at Syracuse University is a symbolic testament of the institution’s support to veterans. Each year, Syracuse University honors those who served with a Veterans Day 5K Run hosted by Syracuse University’s Army ROTC’s Stalwart Battalion and Air Force Detachment 535.

The Veterans Day Fun Run & Walk kicks off each at 0630. We recommend getting there a little early for runners to receive their T-shirt and meet fellow runners! Event T-Shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Complimentary parking is available in both the Raynor Ave. Lot and the Irving Ave. Garage.

The Course

The Syracuse University Veteran’s Day 5K Fun Run will start in front of Hendricks Chapel. Runners will head down Crouse Drive, making a right onto University Place (promenade) and head east to College Place, proceed down to Sims Drive, turning right between Carnegie Library and the Barnes Center. Runners will turn left after the Barnes Center and follow the sidewalk back to Crouse Drive and then follow Crouse Drive around Heroy Geology Laboratory to Hendricks Chapel. Runners complete three full laps, ending in front of Hendricks Chapel. Walkers will complete the same route, but end at Hendricks Chapel after completing just one lap.

All participants are invited to join us at the quad following the Fun Walk/Run for refreshments.
