Edgar De Mesa (U.S. Army)

Edgar De Mesa serves as the Treasurer of Syracuse University’s Student Veterans Organization while pursuing a degree in Information Management and Technology at the School of Information Studies, with an expected graduation in December 2027. A U.S. Army veteran, Edgar previously served as a Satellite Communications Operator/Maintainer (25S), playing a critical role in maintaining secure and reliable communication systems that support military operations worldwide. His technical expertise and disciplined approach to mission success now translate into his academic focus and leadership within SVO.

As Treasurer, Edgar helps ensure the organization’s financial accountability and sustainability, supporting events, programming, and initiatives that strengthen the veteran community at Syracuse. He believes deeply in the importance of connection and shared experience, stating, “Having a veteran community wherever you go is essential in my opinion. It brings support and provides a sense of belonging for active military, veterans, and their families.” Outside of his academic and leadership responsibilities, Edgar enjoys playing basketball and living life to the fullest, embracing balance, growth, and community wherever he goes.
